Kian Spies
When did you start racing, and what inspired you to begin?
I started racing in 2021. After my close friend took me to the track and let me drive his go-kart, I instantly fell in love and started competing.
What is your current racing category/team?
I am the T4 ambassador for South Africa and, as such, race in T4 senior, Senior Rotax in the Rotax championship and the brand new MSA4 championship
Notable achievements in motorsport (e.g., championships, podium finishes, awards):
I am the T4 senior champion, have over 25 podiums, and have represented South Africa in the European Rotax championship and the T4 world championship.
What has been your proudest moment in racing so far?
Racing with Dan Holland in Campilos, Spain, against the best senior Rotax drivers in the world.
Who are your racing idols or sources of inspiration?
Marcus Armstrong, Daniel Ricciardo and Kevin Estre are my racing heroes and the ones I’ve always looked up to
What hobbies or interests do you pursue outside of racing?
I am an eight handicap golfer, play padel and tennis regularly and enjoy going to music festivals
Do you follow any other sports? If so, which ones?
I love golf, tennis, and football
What kind of music, movies, or books do you enjoy?
I love house music, watch action movies, and enjoy romance books.
Do you have a favourite food or cuisine?
Nah not really
What’s a fun fact about you that fans might not know?
That I used to play competitive paintball.
What are your short-term and long-term goals in racing?
Just to enjoy myself and focus on improving as a driver.
How do you prepare mentally and physically for competition?
I like listening to music before races to help me focus. And physically train regularly in the gym to stay fit.

Mikel Bezuidenhout
When did you start racing, and what inspired you to begin?
I started racing towards the end of 2022, with 2023 being my first full season in karting. I started because I was looking for something thrilling and exciting to pursue as a career.
What is your current racing category/team?
Xtreme Racing – Rotax National and Regional Karting Championships
Corsa Dei Gemelli – MSA4

Competed at the 2023 ROK Cup Super Final
Competed at the 2024 OKN World Finals
Third – ROK Cup OK-N National Championship
Competed at the Walter Hayes Formula Ford Festival (Silverstone)

What hobbies or interests do you pursue outside of racing?
Playing guitar, going to school, and spending time with friends.

What kind of music, movies, or books do you enjoy?
Any music. Comedies mostly. I’m not a fan of reading.

Butter chicken
What’s a fun fact about you that fans might not know?
I plan on studying biomedical science
What are your short-term and long-term goals in racing?
In the short term, I want to perform at my best and enjoy it, and hopefully I can make a career out of it in the long term
